Reflecting on August – A Month of Connection, Growth and Spirit

As I sit listening to the rain outside my room, I am reminded that sometimes isolation can be a Godsend. It gives us the opportunity to slow down, reflect, and take a moment to look back on the month that has been and all that has happened in our lives.

And what a busy month it has been—with family, healings, meeting new people, and, of course, reflecting on our wonderful retreat earlier this month.

For the first time, we held our retreat at a new residence, and what a wonderful experience it was. The staff were warm and welcoming, the food was amazing, and the rooms were comfortable, creating a beautiful environment in which everyone could relax, learn, and connect.

It was especially exciting to welcome new people and new energies into our retreat.

Ayleen Dixon and I had the privilege of leading everyone through a range of new exercises and experiences as part of the Krystal Light Pathway, a program designed to help developing mediums gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their awareness and their connection with Spirit.

Throughout the retreat, we witnessed changes taking place within those who attended. Sometimes we begin a journey without knowing where it will lead us. We arrive with questions, uncertainty and perhaps even a little apprehension, only to discover something within ourselves that can change our perspective and, at times, change our lives.

This is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching and working with people.

We never truly know what will happen when we bring a group of people together. Each person arrives with their own experiences, their own story, and their own expectations. Yet through connection, trust, learning, and openness, something beautiful can happen.

We give thanks to Spirit for the changes we witnessed and, most importantly, for the possibility that these experiences will continue to bring meaningful and lasting changes into the lives of those who attended.

It is also wonderful to see so many new faces coming along to our services. There is something very special about the camaraderie, friendship, and sense of belonging that develops within our spiritual community.

To all those who have joined us recently, we extend a very warm welcome. We hope you feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged as you explore your own spiritual journey.

And finally, a huge welcome back to our wonderful “Kitchen Witch”! It is lovely to have you back with us and to feel once again the warmth, care, and nurturing energy that you bring to our gatherings.

Reflection on Healing – Moving Forward

As we reflect on the journey of healing, it is wonderful to see how far we are moving forward and the opportunities that continue to unfold.

Ayleen and I have now been given the incredible opportunity to become tutors, trainers and assessors for the Arthur Findlay College in Stansted, England, in the field of spiritual healing.

This is an extraordinary honour and one that we both feel deeply grateful for.

To be given this opportunity is particularly significant because we are the first healers outside of England to be offered this role. It is a wonderful recognition of the work, dedication and commitment that has gone into developing spiritual healing and education.

Our vision now extends beyond our own individual work. We have the opportunity to help develop and support healers throughout Australasia, giving people the opportunity to undertake recognized training and work towards becoming professionally recognized healers.

For us, this is not simply about receiving a title or recognition. It is about creating opportunities for others.

We want to encourage those who feel drawn to healing to develop their knowledge, strengthen their understanding, and approach healing with professionalism, compassion, integrity, and respect.

Healing is a beautiful responsibility. It is about being there for another person, creating a safe and supportive space, and allowing healing to take place with humility and care.

As Ayleen and I move forward into this new chapter, we feel incredibly grateful for the trust that has been placed in us.

We hope that this opportunity will open doors for many more people throughout Australasia who wish to follow a pathway in spiritual healing.

Sometimes we begin a journey without knowing where it will take us. Then, looking back, we realize that every step has been preparing us for something greater.

We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to helping others take their own steps along the healing pathway.

As I listen to the rain tonight, I am reminded that life is made up of moments—some busy, some challenging, some unexpected, and some incredibly beautiful.

Sometimes we simply need to stop, become quiet, and reflect.

For within that stillness, we may discover just how much has changed, how much we have learned, and how many lives we have touched along the way.

May we continue to walk this journey together with open hearts, open minds, and gratitude for every opportunity Spirit places before us.

Beyond Mediumship – Discovering Who We Are

While much of our teaching focuses on mediumship and developing our connection with the Spirit World, there are many other avenues of spiritual development that we also need to explore.

One of the most important of these is awareness.

Before we can truly understand our connection with Spirit, perhaps we first need to understand more about ourselves. Not simply what we are, but who we are.

This is something I am particularly passionate about at the moment and is the inspiration behind a new online course I am creating called “Let’s Get Spiritual.”

The course will encourage us to look beyond the labels we place upon ourselves. We may describe ourselves by what we do—I am a medium, a healer, a teacher, a parent or a worker—but these describe aspects of our lives. They do not necessarily answer the deeper question:

Who am I?

As we develop spiritually, it is important to become aware of our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, strengths, weaknesses and the impact we have on others.

How well do we really know ourselves?

Why do we react in certain ways?

What are our beliefs?

What experiences have shaped us?

What do we need to change?

And perhaps most importantly:

Who am I becoming?

As Education Coordinator for the Spiritualists’ National Union, I see the importance of providing opportunities for people to explore all aspects of their spiritual development.

Mediumship is a wonderful part of Spiritualism, but spiritual development is much broader. It is about awareness, personal responsibility, growth, understanding and learning how to live our spirituality in everyday life.

“Let’s Get Spiritual” is being created to encourage people to pause, reflect and begin the journey within.

Because before we can truly understand what spirituality means to us, perhaps we need to understand ourselves more deeply.

Warmest blessings,

Beverley.
