As the weather begins to cool, many of us naturally turn inward, embracing the comfort and quiet reflection that the winter months can bring.

It is truly heartening to witness the continued growth of our church and the strengthening of the connections within our community. By coming together, we create a space where hearts are touched, comfort is shared, and a sense of belonging is nurtured. This season also offers a wonderful opportunity to form new friendships and reconnect with those we may not have seen for some time.

Life continues to unfold in many different ways for each of us. Even when the path ahead is not entirely clear, there is a gentle reassurance in trusting that, in time, all will be revealed. With that trust comes the quiet knowing that there are still many positive and meaningful experiences ahead.

Recently, I had the privilege of officiating a wedding, joining two people in matrimony. It was a truly beautiful occasion, made even more special by the presence of family and friends who gathered to share in their joy. Allison was a radiant bride, and Andrew, both composed and visibly moved, reflected the depth of his commitment and love.

At the beginning of my own journey, I could not have imagined that I would one day play a role in bringing people together at such significant moments in their lives. Yet life offers us many opportunities, and often it takes time and experience to fully step into them.

A few weeks ago, Vita Capelinha, Heather Williams, and I had the pleasure of serving at a Mediums’ Night in Mandurah. As always, working with Spirit is both a privilege and a responsibility, and it is deeply rewarding to bring forward messages that offer comfort, reassurance, and a sense of continued connection.

As we move into the winter season, may we continue to support one another, remain open to growth, and find peace in the knowledge that we are never truly alone.

Within Spiritualism, there is a belief in the continuity of life—that the soul survives beyond physical death. This alone draws many people, especially those who are grieving. They come hoping to feel close to loved ones again, or simply to find reassurance that love continues. Even a sense of peace or understanding can be deeply healing.

Others come for healing—not always physical, but emotional and spiritual. Life can be overwhelming, and spiritualist churches often provide a quiet, supportive space where people can sit, reflect, and feel uplifted. The atmosphere itself can be calming, allowing people to step away from the noise of everyday life.

There is also a strong desire for belonging. Many people are looking for community—a place where they are accepted without judgement. Spiritualist churches tend to foster warmth, friendship, and inclusivity, where people can share experiences and feel understood.

Some are drawn by curiosity or personal development. They may want to explore mediumship, intuition, or their own spiritual awareness. In that sense, spiritualist churches can become places of learning and growth, encouraging people to better understand themselves and their place in the world.

And then some come simply because something within them is searching. They may not have the words for it—but they feel drawn to something deeper, something beyond the physical.

Of course, people stay for different reasons too. What often keeps them coming back is:

  • A sense of peace

  • The comfort of shared belief

  • The kindness of the community

  • And the feeling that they are not alone

So while each person’s journey is unique, spiritualist churches offer a space where people can heal, connect, grow, and find meaning—and that is something many are quietly seeking in today’s world.
